ALCOGEN is an alcohol resistant film forming fluoroprotein fire fighting foam concentrate for extinguishing and securing flammable hydrocarbon liquid fires and as “alcohol resistant” foam, creating a polymeric membrane on polar solvent fires. It provides reliable performance even on the strongest fuels. The protein based provides a adhesive foam blanket with high resistance to heat that quickly smoothers, cools and seals the risk. Its excellent fire fighting performance on all kind flammable liquids, low or medium expansion, provides maximum security in both mobile fire fighting and stationary fire protection..

DESCRIPTION

APPLICATIONS

ALCOGEN is suitable for use in situations where hydrocarbons ( such as diesel fuel, gasoline, crude oil ) and where polar solvents (such as alcohols, ketones, esters and ethers)  are stored, processed or transported. It is used extensively by  hemical, oil and petrochemical companies for storage tank fire protection.

ALCOGEN is principally recommended for protection against  fire in :

  • Polar and non-polar liquids stroge tanks
  • Chemical Plants
  • Refineries and Petroleum Plants
  • Flammable liquid containment areas
  • Marine terminals and vessels

C6 FLUOROCHEMICALS EQUIPMENT

The environmentally friendly ALCOGEN formulation contains short-chain C6 fluorochemicals produced using a telomere-based process. The telomere process does not produce PFOS and the C6 fluorochemicals do not break down to produce PFOA. The fluorochemicals used in the concentrate comply with the objectives of the EPA 2010/15 PFOA Management Program.

EQUIPMENT

ALCOGEN is suitable for use in combination with :

Soft or hard, fresh or sea water.

Dry powder extinguishing agents either separately or as twin agent systems.

ALCOGEN properties do not change in case of frost. It recovers its initial properties as soon as it is defrosted.

ALCOGEN can be used with air aspirating discharge devices such as low expansion branchpipes, monitors, foam/water sprinkler and nonaspirating discharge devices such as spray/fog branchpipes and nozzles, monitors, and spray/fog sprinklers for fast fire knockdown.
