Filmosin 1030 AFFF 3%

FILMOSIN is a synthetic aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) concentrate for extinguishing and securing flammable hydrocarbon liquid fires. The special formulation of FILMOSIN provides very fast fire extinguishing by providing high foaming ability, outstanding fluidity and excellent cooling effect. Further, the discharge time allows for the formation of a floating aqueous film which provides excellent resistance to vapor release and long-term burnback resistance even in the absence of foam formation.

Description

DESCRIPTION

FILMOSIN is a synthetic Aqueous Film Forming Foam ( AFFF ) concentrate for extinguishing and securing flammable hydrocarbon liquid fires. The special formulation of  FILMOSIN gives high foam ability, an outstanding fluidity and excellent cooling effect, enabling very rapid fire knockdown. Also, the drainge time allows the formation of a floating aqueous film providing an excellent resistance to vapour release and giving long term burnback resistance, even in absence of foam generation.

APPLICATIONS

FILMOSIN is used in high risk situations where hydrocarbons ( such as diesel fuel, gasoline, crude oil ) are stored, processed or transported. FILMOSIN is designed and recommended for fast fire knockdown to save human lives, in addition to preventing catastrophic fire development; in paticular when used in fire-fighting vecihles in the airports and fixed fire systems in heliports.

FILMOSIN can also be used as a wetting agent in combating fires in Class A materials such as paper, wood, tires. It is most suitable for simultaneous use with compatible powders in twin-agents or extinguishers.

FILMOSIN is principally recommended for protection against fire in:

  • Hydrocarbon fuel industrial/processing facilities
  • Hydrocarbon fuel storage tanks
  • Flammable liquid containment areas
  • Docks and on-board marine systems
  • Airports and helidecks

C6 FLUOROCHEMICALS EQUIPMENT

The environmentally friendly FILMOSIN formulation contains short-chain C6 fluorochemicals produced using a telomere-based process. The telomere process does not produce PFOS and the C6 fluorochemicals do not break down to produce PFOA. The fluorochemicals used in the concentrate comply with the objectives of the EPA 2010/15 PFOA Management Program.

EQUIPMENT

FILMOSIN is suitable for use in combination with :

Soft or hard, fresh or sea water.

Dry powder extinguishing agents either separately or as twin agent systems.

FILMOSIN properties do not change in case of frost. It recovers its initial properties as soon as it is defrosted.

FILMOSIN can be applied with aspirating and  non-aspirating discharge devices. Aspirating discharge devices typically produce expansion ratios from 5 to 10, depending on the type of device and the flow rate. Non-aspirating devices, such as handline water fog/stream nozzles or standard sprinkler heads, typically produce expansion ratios from 2:1 to 4:1.

Medium-expansion discharge devices typically produce expansion ratios from 20:1 to 80:1.
